Explore the extraordinary architecture and visit the extensive collections of paintings, sculptures, and decorative objects housed in Europe’s world-renowned museums.

Summer Study Abroad—Florence, Italy

This program is offered as a study abroad program in Florence, Italy during 7.5 weeks of summer semester. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday during the semester.

Proposed classes during the summer study abroad program will be in the areas of Painting, Printmaking, Illustration, Music, Photography and Art & Architectural History.

Program Highlights:

  • Day excursions to small Italian towns
  • On-location painting and drawing or printmaking and book arts classes with Academy instructors

Fashion Scholarship Exchange

Through the Sister City Scholarship Exchange Program, the School of Fashion awards scholarships to study in Paris with Studio Berçot and L’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. These scholarships are a tremendous honor and awarded only to the very best students.

Program Highlights:

  • The School of Fashion awards scholarships to study abroad in Paris with Studio Berçot and L’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne
  • The scholarship awards full tuition for one year
  • Living and travel expenses are the responsibility of the student

All instruction is in French, so you’ll want to know the language or come prepared for immersive learning!

Eligibility:

  • All seniors
  • Juniors who are enrolled in or have completed Fashion Design 4
  • MFA and BFA students
  • Candidates must speak French

Liberal Arts: Seminar in Europe

The Liberal Arts Department and the School of Art History run a three-week intensive traveling course, where students study and write about the art they see in some of Europe’s greatest collections. Lectures accompany the museum visits, and students explore the extraordinary art and architecture of the cities they visit.

You’ll visit 9 of the best museums that London has to offer, from the British Museum to the National Gallery of Art to the Tate Modern.

Our two day trips from London will be Salisbury & Bath and Windsor Castle.

You’ll also get to explore the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, St. Martins in the Fields and more.

Eligibility

  • All Graduate students with a GPA of 2.75 or greater
  • All Undergrads with a GPA of 2.75 or greater and who have completed at least one Art History class with a C- or better
